The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber was honored to host Trula Tener from the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC to meet with Irving’s small businesses to discuss the US Chamber’s Small Business of the Year campaign.
Tener noted that Irving leads the nation in the number of small businesses recognized as Blue Ribbon Small Businesses, and that Irving’s nominations are always some of the best the US Chamber receives. While in Irving, she also visited several of Irving’s Blue Ribbon Small Businesses and met with potential applicants for 2012 Small Business of the Year, providing tips on areas of the application that are important to the judges. She also met with the North Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives to encourage them to get involved in this program.
Every small business can apply for Small Business of the Year. Deadline January 9!
The US Chamber’s definition of small business is less than 250 employees and less than $20 million revenues in 2009 and 2010. To gain this national exposure for your business, we want to encourage you to contact Don Williams at [email protected] or 214-507-5091. Don can provide you a copy of the application, and is also available to review your applications and make suggestions for improving it. Applications must be completed by January 9, 2012. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity for your business!
